Transforming Young Lives in Colombia Through Access to Technology
Isabella Arredondo leads a heartfelt mission to bridge the digital divide in rural Colombia. Through her foundation Los Niños del Carmen, she collects gently used iPads from school districts across Miami and Broward County. After carefully refurbishing and preparing each device, she personally delivers them to children in the mountain town of El Carmen and nearby communities. By providing access to technology, Isabella is not only supporting education—she’s opening doors to a brighter future for Colombia’s next generation.
Our Founder
Isabella (Bella) Arredondo is a 17-year-old second-generation U.S. citizen from Miami, Florida, with deep Colombian roots. Inspired by the legacy of her great-grandmother—who devoted her life to helping the children of El Carmen, a small mountain town near Cali—Isabella founded Los Niños del Carmen, a nonprofit dedicated to continuing that mission.
Through her foundation, Isabella collects gently used iPads from school districts in Miami and Broward County, refurbishes them herself, and delivers them—along with school supplies—to underprivileged children in El Carmen and surrounding communities.
Despite her young age, Isabella manages every aspect of the foundation independently, demonstrating an extraordinary sense of purpose and compassion. A seasoned traveler who has visited over 45 countries, she has seen firsthand the inequities children face around the world. Her work is driven by a deep belief that access to technology and education can transform lives—starting one child at a time.
Mission
The mission of Los Niños del Carmen is to empower underprivileged children in rural Colombian communities by providing access to technology and essential educational resources. Through the donation of refurbished iPads and school supplies, the foundation aims to bridge the digital divide, promote learning, and create opportunities for a brighter future—one child, one classroom, one community at a time.
